Our pilot consisted of teen girls ages 13-18 from across five Baltimore city areas.

What is the pilot?

We piloted Innovative Changemakers to empower and equip girls by introducing them to the club's focus on innovation, fostering a collaborative community, and establishing clear program expectations to spark their interest and set them up for success.

During our time together, the girls had one goal and that was to determine a social solution that exists in their community and use design methodologies to determine and solve their solution.

In our sessions we…

Discovered different types of communities within Baltimore city.
Learned about how creativity can be used a vessel for change
Studied terms that correspond to design and innovation.
Learned about the worth of the design and tech industry (multi-billion dollar industry)
Collaboratively brainstormed through techniques like design thinking and the 6 thinking caps
Most importantly, we built a collective sisterhood amongst one another.
